We interrupt this information series to share the following news for the acupuncture profession

After decades of mahi by a number of us in the Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine Profession, the government has finally announced that this taonga is officially recognised by Aotearoa and has been designated a health profession to be regulated.

The Health Practitioners Competency Assurance Act is amended to include Chinese Medicine Practitioners as at 1 November 2021 and announced the pending formation of an inaugural Chinese Medicine Council New Zealand. This Council will be responsible to set standards and qualifications for the profession and take over regulation and monitoring of CM professionals beginning April 2023.

This has been a monumental task, contributed to by many individuals over the past three decades. The result will hopefully be added assurance and protection to New Zealand health consumers through a mandatory regulation/registration scheme. Until now, acupuncture has been governed through voluntary regulation in order to function within the ACC provider scheme.

Perspective, common sense, life long learning, and always continuing to question everything can yield remarkable results. Remember that science is alive and always evolving - it is never settled, ever. The atempt to silence and censor and de-person the brilliant minds of our time cannot succeed because ... You can never silence the truth, ever. The spin will eventually fail, it always does. History repeats because it is so often forgotten or just re-written. The government should never be your sole (self-proclaimed) source of truth. You must be responsible and do your own questioning and research to survive and thrive.

If you find this valuable or interesting, please help me by sharing it with your circle. Together we can help our communities to consider what is really happening to us.

Get Inspired ... Together we can help create a healthy and vibrant society based on individual freedom and true care for one another. No government can do this, only we can help ourselves. It begins with self-accountability, making smart decisions for your self, your lifestyle, your diet and nutrition and how you spend your time and contribute to your community.

A pathway forward for everyone this day ... be respectful & loving to one another
